These energising, and deeply nurturing Gentle Yoga & Meditation classes, will guide you into a state of deep relaxation and inner connectedness. The class combines Meditation, with Gentle Yoga sequences. The aim is to help focus and quiet your mind, whilst loosening, limbering, strengthening and relaxing the body. Yoga poses include a fusion of gentle asanas from Hatha, Yinn and Restorative yoga traditions. Each class includes some mindful breath work and a Yoga Nidra relaxation at the end of the practice.
This class is ideal for Yoga beginners seeking a gentle, yet challenging practice, and for those of you who wish to establish or deepen their meditation practice. It is also ideal for anyone who wants a focussed and guided Mindfulness, Mindful Yoga or Meditation practice, without the ‘psycho-education’ component of a traditional Mindfulness class. Perfect also for anyone who has completed an MBSR or Mindfulness Meditation Course, and wishes to continue and deepen their meditation practice. The class is not suitable for anyone with injury or in the early stages of recovery from illness (see restorative yoga classes if this applies to you).
This balanced Gentle Yoga class is designed to relax and stretch the body while calming the mind. Focusing on the present moment using breath, movement, and meditation you will leave this class feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.

The Benefits of these classes
Yoga & Meditation provides a route to healing for the body and the mind. Classes offer a Mindfulness practice that is especially helpful in reducing stress and tiredness that results from the pressures of everyday life.
Yoga poses included in the class help to trigger the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) or the body’s ‘Relaxation Response’. The PNS is responsible for balancing the body and bringing its Stress response system back into equilibrium. Stimulating the Relaxation Response helps to lower heart rate and blood pressure; it helps to healthily stimulate the immune system and keep the endocrine system operating healthily.
Classes leave you nourished, soothed, deeply relaxed and well rested. Classes also help manage depression and anxiety. Some of the reported benefits include:

General Information about Classes
Classes are 1 hour 15 minutes in duration, unless otherwise stated. Please bring along your own Yoga mats and blankets. Yoga mats are available for rental at €2 per session if needed. All other props will be provided at the class (blankets, bolsters, straps, cushions, blocks etc).
Classes are led by Yvonne Lucas. Yvonne is an accredited Psychotherapist & Play Therapist, in addition to teaching Meditation, Mindfuness & Relaxation, and Yoga to individual clients and groups. Yvonne has accredited training in the Stress Response & Relaxation Management and the Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness, in addition to teaching diplomas in Yoga Meditation, Restorative Yoga & Yinn Yoga. In 2016 Yvonne completed her thesis on the therapeutic benefits of Mindfulness for emotional well being and stress reduction as part of an Msc in Psychology postgraduate training.

Classes are based in Greystones Yoga Studios, Church Rd., Greystones Co. Wicklow, easy accessible from Wicklow and Dublin.
Terms & Conditions:
Both the booking fee and class payment are non refundable but may be transferred to another person or another class booking, within 3 months of the original course date, by agreement, up to 48 hours prior to commencement of the course. As your space is reserved for you, the full amount of the course is payable regardless of the number of classes attended. If for any reason the full course needs to be cancelled or rescheduled a refund will be offered. In the event that an individual class is canceled an alternative date/class will be provided.
In booking any class/course/workshop you agree not to hold Yvonne Lucas, Greystones Yoga Studio, or any other representative of the above responsible for any loss or damage to personal property whilst undertaking classes, or responsible for any personal injury acquired on the premises or during the course of classes. You agree to take responsibility for your suitability to join the course (e.g you should get approval from your GP in the case of any pre-existing injuries or medical conditions which may contraindicate floor exercise, gently movement & stretching exercise, restorative yoga exercise, breath awareness exercise or meditation/visualisation practice).
